Insanity
Still can't believe its only Tuesday....how many more days till the weekend? Here's some eats & sweats for the day:
^^the last picture is how I felt during Insanity...
This gray weather is making me kinda depressed. Eek.
Right now, I'm really craving a hot shower, cuddling & reading. Maybe throw in some candles and incents. So off to do that.
Have a good night!
Spinach, cauliflower, carrots & sunflowers. A microwaved sweet potato on the side!
Then it was off to Cincinnati for a mid-afternoon interview at WCPO, a local broadcasting station, for a summer internship. keeping fingers crossed (:
Workout:
The Max Cardio Interval Training..kicked my butt.

Breaking Rountine
This was definatly one of those weekends that felt a million years long. From OSU campus visits, to interviewing a Mr. Oh, an amazing Korean chemist, for a Multicultural project, to gym classes, long car rides & concerts-I was on the go-go-go. So today was a nice de-compress Sunday to get back into the swing of things again (that's what Sunday's are for right?)
Woke up and made a nice bowl of homemade oats! Chopped up some apples, sprinkled a lil brown sugar and breakfast is served! Paired with a cup of soy milk, coffee & water on the side! Stayed around doing some chores and laundry..then I was itching to get to the gym! My body hasn't been sore this weekend, which is good. But sometimes, having that soreness is a nice reminder that you went hard! Does anyone else get in 'work-out ruts'? I've been doing Insanity, running & taking gym classes like Strike and Cycling. I think my body is telling me I'm doing too much. So I'm planning on cutting back. I guess with the spring time weather, I naturally want to move more. Knowing that I've struggled with body weight and excercising & eating enough to maintain weight..it's something I have to be careful of.
I know that stress, big decisions, loneliness, swimsuit season & spring air always send me wanting to run a little more and eat a little less. So I'm trying to be extra observant of what sets me off and keeping it in line.
Workout
Headed to the gym for a light elliptical warm-up for 15 mins. then took a Strike class. Strike is a combination of cardio kickboxing and using the body bar for strength training and cardio. Its fun and the hour goes by faast. I typically do Strike once a week.
Lunch
-1 pack of Chocolate CIB
-1/2 a banana
-crushed ice
Worked on homework, ran a few errands and took Bonds for a walk!
The other day Bonds injured himself. We tried putting a gauze around his paw but it made him so sad & depressed. Aww...:(
Dinner
The perfect weather called for some grillin' & back porch munching!
We enjoyed grilled chicken sauteed in garlic (somewhat of a Korean flavor), quinoa, and roasted cauliflower. Mmm mmm good!
Breaking Routine
I'm very much so a creature of habit when it comes to eats & work outs. I think I've eaten turkey sandwiches for lunches for far too long. And I'm getting bored! If I'm going to eat it why not make it delicious and exciting?
So my new promise to myself is to treat myself better. Nourish my body with wholesome foods that excite me. I feel as if my ED is partly to blame for my lack of adventure in the food area. I have my "safe" foods: like turkey sandwiches on 100 calorie breads, salads, light yogurts....These are things I've tried to nix out of my diet purely because I know they are my ED thoughts telling me to get them. Now I don't rely solely on lettuce leaves and 100 cal packs to satisfy my body. I'm more into the whole foods, clean eating. But I still stick to my comfort zones.
So I'm breaking my habits. Starting today.
Typicalling for breakfasts, I'll make an english muffin with some greek yogurt. Tomorrow? Overnight Apple butter oats! Recipe to come (;
Do you ever get stuck in a boring routine?
How do you break the cycle?
Stay lovely, healthy & happy

Buckeye
Morning world!
Brutus the Buckeye!
He wants you (;
And apparently he got one more Buckeye!
After a lonnnng college decision journey, somehow I made my final choice. The Ohio State University will be my home for the next 4 years (:
It's crazy how I would have never considered even applying to OSU a few years ago. My goal was to get the heck outtta Ohio. I wanted to be far, far away from cornfields, buckeyes and my high school peers (and preferably by a beach!) But..after considering Pitzer in LA, Indiana University in Bloomington, South Carolina, University of Cincinnati, Belmont and Miami...somehow I found myself at Ohio State. Actually, this was a really new epiphany for me. I hadn't even been up to the campus till yesterday! But walking onto the campus,I just felt at home. My mom and I attended the GoBuckeye Day for prospective students. I couldnt have asked for a more beautiful day to see the school. Everyone was so welcoming and as big as the campus is, I ran into several people I knew which put me at ease.
We attended a few speeches, walking tours, residence hall tours and the dining hall. Being able to feel like a Buckeye for a day made my decision a lot easier. I could totally see myself living here.
I thought that I wanted to do Journalism as my major, but while submitting my acceptance fees, I had a gut instinct to switch majors. So I now am enrolled as a Psychology major for the Fall of 2012! I plan on double majoring in Psychology and Journalism. Hopefully, I can incorporate my love for learning about others and writing while also helping teens live a healthy life to find the right career choice for me. I know that it takes practice, patience and passion. But I'm so ready to actually start real life.
Officially a Buckeye (:

10 Things
10 Questions About My Personality
1. When a cashier in the checkout line at the grocery store is being a grump for no reason, how do you typically react?
I guess I try to fake the biggest smile. Be extra nice back, say my pleases & thank you's. Obviously, they need it.
2. Are you the type that likes going out with your girlfriends or staying in?
Don't get me wrong. I love going out, dancing, concerts, parties. I'm 18! It's basically a part of my lifestyle. But sometimes, there's nothing better than just lounging in some sweats and hair up, doing nails, gossiping and watching a good chick flick :-) Probably because I value a good nights sleep too much.
3. Do you sob and get emotional watching romance movies?
I kinda consider myself a sentimental mess. Romantic movies, inspirational documentaries and sometimes even just some beautiful music will send me into a full-fledged water works.
4. What stresses you out the most?
The future! I constantly think about whats next, what will happen if I choose this, what if? I want to know I'm making the right choice or doing the best I can to get to where I want to go. And I am always lying awake in bed just trying to make sense of who I am, if I've made the right choices and where I'm going to be.
5. What do you think people think of you?
I hope people look at me and see an open-minded, curious, adventourous, creative girl just trying to live, laugh and learn.
6. When you overindulge do you hit the gym to burn it all off, or just accept the indulgence and follow your same routine?
I believe in living a healthy, balanced life. While sometimes ED thoughts do come in when I'm going for an extra cookie or feeling lazy because of a skipped workout, I think "Go extra hard in the gym tomorrow."
But why should we feel as if we have to punish ourselves because we had fun, because our bodies wanted a sweet, because a friend asked to grab some Mexican and you ate too many chips & salsa? That's not living. So I like to think that I make pretty healthy choices overall and that the extra indulgence here and there should just be a part of life.
7. Are you easily annoyed?
I guess it depends on my mood. I try to keep an open mind about most people. Everyone has been raised differently, has different beliefs etc. So I can agree to disagree and smile.
8. What do you think is your biggest personality flaw?
Hmm..I tend to get impatient with my family a lot more than I would like. I guess it's true, the ones you love the most you hurt the most.
9. What is one thing you don’t think people see enough of when it comes to your personality?
This ones hard. I don't think people realize how much I care about things. I put a lot of thought into my emotions and feelings towards others, projects or anything I do. I take things to the heart too. I don't think people realize how much I think about things and really want everything to be equal and fair. A lot of times I feel as if people underestimate my abilities and thoughts. Maybe its because I'm young or a girl that likes to dress cute and comes from a wel-off family, but I feel like a lot of times my thoughts/ideas are dismissed.
10. Can you feel relaxed in a busy crowd or messy room?
Not at all. Crowds, I love. But messy rooms? Eek! I'm such an organizer freak! Take me to the Container Store or Target office aisle, I'll go crrrazy with all those file cabinets and boxes!
