champagne love

The week has gone by and I've carelessly fallen back. Im trying to enjoy life, write, read, laugh and love but sometimes I spread myself too thin and get overwhelmed in the chaos of it all. So I'm back! (Hope you missed me :0)
I spent the weekend in California for my oldest cousins wedding! In celebration of Lori & Micheals big day the whole Sones clan flew out! We passed through San Francisco suns and fog and found a safe vineyard tucked behind palm trees and winding roads and quenched ourselves in champagne and honey dew lips. I buzzed by hugging new relatives that comforted me and made me feel part of the family. Weddings are my favorite. Watching two people come together and vow to love one another no matter what..ah I'm tearing up just thinking about it.
I performed "Sea of Love" by Cat Powers for the crowd. Looking up into the small audience and seeing the joy in everyones face made me so proud and thankful..seeing how music can capture anyones heart (okay, I'm super corny, but...) I wanted to hug everyones smiling faces and have them all sing along! So I guess you can say..I am now a wedding singer??
(watch that hand Mr ;) )
The ceromony was beautiful, the orchads were done by my cousins friend and everything was simple, yet elegant-just like Lori.
We met some awesome people from Portland and enjoyed laughing with realitives and eccletic arties (new word). Lori's an artist and I've always admired her for her free spirit and edgy style. She still feels like my young & hip cousin-so seeing her get married is so crazy for me! She looked exactly how I thought she would on her big day-nothing traditional!

The night consisted of lots of champagne, toasts, good food & DANCING!
& lots of love (precious pic of my parents).
Welcome to the family Micheal!

Then it was off to Monterey! A quick trip to Grandma Suki & Grandpa Sones' house right on the beach (not to shabby eh?)Anyways, after a long walk around Pacific Grove, we go home and sit out on the back porch watching the water. If anyone has a Korean grandmother, they can relate. Korean grandmothers are persistant...they shower you in food and clothes and things and push you to study study study! So my grandmother insists my little brother wear this jacket:

So Stuey...fits him well I must say ;) After we went to the Dennis the Menace skatepark where mom and I basked in the sun while Stuey shredded. We made some friends with some guys that go to PG High-they were very nice and wanted to show us around-unfortunatly, we got stuck into going out to a Chinese restraunt with gramma and grandpa..but oh well..next time!
So we are back in Ohio! After a loooong day of traveling and awaiting on airplanes with actual working brakes in the Dallas airport (yes, our airplanes brakes werent working properly) we made it home. Stuey and I spent the next day singing with guitars in our park and going on a loong run through the sun to stretch out. Getting back into the swing of things this week. And I promise to blog more!!

This morning I attended a Careers in Media Workshop and squeezed in a mini workout beforehand. Met a lot of people and kids interested in Journalism, Communications, seeing the world..I made a lot of new friends! The people at Channel 9 were so nice and answered a lot of my questions about their field.
Mom and I then went prom dress shopping! And I think I may have found the one! We went to Off Saks Fifth and tried on 2 dresses. I found this simple, white dress and it was stunning! I didn't get a picture of it-which I'm regretting! Anyways, we put it on hold and are awaiting for it ini the mail :) eek! Now I just need to find a date.....any takers??? ;)
Until next time! Xoxo, Em
